Please Note: Sign Up Early. Our RMC membership is over 300 and typical event participation is around 90. Depending on the event type and popularity, later registered players may be waitlisted or set as alternates once maximum registrations have been received. As a public course, Rockledge must provide fair access to the public.

Qualifying for SR & Club Championships: You must have played in two (2) sign up in advance and a minimum total of five (5) events (sign up in advance, Tues/Friday, or Pro Shop events) played prior to the event sign up deadline.
Signup for Scheduled Events: Registration for the below events will typically open two weeks before the event, and close Sunday 2PM one week before the event. Check below as events approach for more information.
Tournament Fees: Event fees are listed below, and may be subject to change. Additionally, each event typically offers an option to sign up for "kickers" for $5. Check with the starters desk when you sign in.
APRIL
Saturday April 8th - ABCD Red Tee (RC)
You will enjoy easing into the new golf season with everyone playing from the Red Tees in the first event of the year. This is a team one best ball gross and net event. Each team will consist of one A, B, C and D player (designated by handicap). ABCD teams are assigned via blind draw.

Saturday April 15th - 2 Man Scramble - Pick Your Own Partner - Flighted
Pick a partner and register for this 2 Man Scramble event. Scramble - is a team format where each player of the team tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots is then selected and all players play their next shots from that spot. The best second shot is then determined and all players play their third shot from that spot...and so on, until the ball is holed.

Sunday April 23rd - Opener Scramble - Shotgun Start - Spring Business Meeting, Hors D 'Oeuvres and Prizes following conclusion of play.
Please join us in this fun opening event of the year. The event will start at 8:00AM with coffee and donuts, a brief greeting and shotgun start. Play quick and then join in at Gastro Park for eats, drinks and prizes immediately following play.
There will be four and five man teams, assigned via blind draw in the ABCD format. The scramble format requires each player to hit a drive. The team then picks the best drive and all players then play from that spot, continuing to play the team's best shot in this format to finish each hole. Each player is usually required to hit a minimum number of drives. Prizes are awarded for both Gross & Net Teams in each 4 & 5 team categories.

MAY
Sunday May 7th - Individual Flighted - 18 Hole
Based on your handicap, you will be put into a competition flight of equivalent handicap opponents, and play for Gross & Net score. The number of flights will be determined by the pool of registered players.

Sunday May 21st - ABCD – Hot Ball (RC)
This is actually two tournaments in one. The first is a regular team ABCD one best ball event. The second event is the “Hot Ball” tournament: on each hole one player on a team is given the “hot ball” and the score that player records is the hot ball score for that hole. Each team member must play the hot ball at least 4 times. If the hot ball is lost, then your team is not eligible to post a score in the hot ball tournament, but is still eligible for the ABCD best ball. Each team will consist of one A, B, C and D player.

Memorial Weekend - RMC Memorial Member/Member (TC)
This is an 36 hole two man best ball event. Your team must play two18 hole rounds over the three day Memorial Day Weekend. Teams must declare with the Pro Shop that they are playing an RMC Memorial round before teeing off. The gross and net with the winner’s names are permanently placed on plaques in the Rockledge Club House. Low gross and low net winners qualify for the Tournament of Champions event.

JUNE
Sat - June 3rd - Individual Chicago Stableford
Chicago Points is based on a quota and uses Stableford scoring to accumulate points vs your quota. The course handicap is 39. A golfer with a 1 handicap would have a quota of 38 and a golfer with a 20 handicap would have a quota of 19 and so on. The minimum quota is 2 for anyone with a handicap of 37 or higher. The scoring is 0 points for double bogey or higher, 1 point for bogey, 2 points for par, 4 points for birdie, 8 points for eagle.
So for example a 10 HDCP would have a quota of 29. If he has 9 pars=18 and 2 birdies=8 and 6 bogeys=6 and 1 double bogey=0. His total would be 32. He beat his quota by 3 points. The winners will beat their quota by the most.

Sunday - June 11th - Two Man Flighted - Best Ball
Sign up with a member of your choice, or as an individual and you will be paired with another member. Teams will be paired with another team by the Pro Shop, and tee times will be assigned. The tournament will be set with flights based on the teams' combined handicap. Format: 18 Hole – Best Ball (play your own ball and the better of the two players score counts for the hole).

Saturday June 24th – ABCD Aggregate Quota & 1 Best Ball Gross (RC) Cancelled Due to Rain
Aggregate quota scores will be assigned to each ABCD team, and will be used for the Net Event. One best ball Gross will also be played. Quotas are established for each player and team. Quotas are created off the 2 point per hole and modified Stableford Point System (0-DB+, 1-B, 2-P, 4-Br, 6-E, 8-DE+). Quota Example: 18 hdcp – 36 Pt Basis, Quota for the player is 36 minus 18 handicap for a Quota of 18. Add all 4 players quota to create team quota. For once in golf, the highest point total wins. ABCD teams and tee times assigned.

JULY
July 4th Weekend - Sherman Memorial (TC)
The second major event of the year, this is an individual 36 hole stroke play event. Players must declare with the Pro Shop that they are playing their Sherman Memorial round before teeing off. Play two 18 hole rounds on two of the three days of the Independence Day weekend. The gross and net with the winner’s names are permanently placed on plaques in the Rockledge Club House.

Sat/Sun - July 8th-9th - SR, Super-SR, Legends & Masters Club Championship (TC)
36 holes of stroke play make up this Club Championship major event. Prizes are awarded for gross and net. Players drive from their assigned level tees. Seniors age 50-59, Super Seniors age 60-69. Legends age 70-79, Masters 80+. Each flight winner’s names are permanently placed on plaques in the Rockledge Club House.
Note Update: The Senior flight (age 50-59) and the Senior-Senior Flight (age 60-69) will play from the blue tees. The player with the lowest gross score from these two flights will be the official Senior Club Champion. If you are older than 69 and want to compete for the Gross Senior Club Championship you should register for the Senior-Senior Flight. The legends flight will play from the white tees and the Masters will play from the red tees.
If you have already registered and wish to change flights in order to play for Senior Club Champion, please contact the pro shop. Or, be sure to indicate the correct age group when you do register.

AUGUST
Sat/Sun - August 5th-6th - Club Championship (TC)
All flights will play stroke play. Eligible entrants will be flighted into Club Champion and A, B, C and D flights. The Club Champion flight is open, but is recommended for players with handicaps of 6 or less, others should signup and play in a flighted group based upon your handicap. The Club Champion flight will play 36 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday. ABCD Flights will be ranged based on handicap, and will play 18 holes on Saturday and 18 on Sunday. Winners in the Club Champion and A, B and C flights will be determined by the low gross score. The winner of the D flight will determined by the low net score.

In order to qualify to play in the Rockledge Men's Club Championship you must meet the following criteria: You must have played in Two (2) sign up in advance events and a total of five (5) events (that could include Tuesday/Friday events or pro shop events but not kickers) minimum played prior to the event sign up deadline date. (TC) - This is a Tournament of Champions qualifying event. The Club Champion and the winners of each flight will qualify for the Tournament of Champions.
Sunday - August 13th - ABCD 4 Ball - Best 2 Balls (RC)
Each team is made up off four players via blind draw to create the ABCD groups. Each player plays their own ball, with the two best balls gross and net counting for the team score.

Saturday - August 19th - President’s Trophy - Individual Ramble (TC)
Based on your handicap, you will be put into a four man flight and will play an 18 hole ramble individual format with three 6-hole matches from assigned tees. The winner of each flight will advance to an 18-hole net play event on Sunday August 27th. The winner of the President’s Trophy on Sunday the 27th will be determined by the lowest net score. Tee times will be assigned.

The winner of each flight, from August 20th advances to this 18 hole net individual play event. The winner of the President’s Trophy will be determined by the lowest net score. Tee times will be assigned. The low net winner's name is permanently placed on plaques in the Rockledge Club House.

SEPTEMBER
Labor Day Weekend - Pro’s Trophy (TC)
This is an individual 36 hole stroke play event. You must play two of the three days over the Labor Day weekend. Players must declare with the Pro Shop before teeing off that they are playing a round in the Pro’s Trophy. The winner’s names are permanently placed on plaques in the Rockledge Club House.

Sunday - September 17th - ABCD (9 Hole Best Ball/9 Hole Alternate Shot AD/BC) (RC)
This is a team ACBD one best ball event. Each team will consist of one A, B, C and D player via blind draw. The first nine will be played with each player playing their own ball. The second nine will be alternate shot with the A and D players and the C and D players working together. Players will hit tee shots, then alternate and hit their partner’s ball on the second shot. After two shots, choose the best ball and alternate shot from that point until the hole is completed.

This is a Ryder Cup point qualifying event.
Sat-Sun - September 23rd-24th - Individual Match Play (TC)
Based on your handicap, you will be put into a flight of six players and play five 9 hole match play matches over two days (27 holes on Saturday and 18 holes on Sunday). This event has proven to be one of the most popular of the year, and you will not want to miss it.

Note: This event is limited to 72 entrants. Registrations exceeding 72 will be considered in the order received, as alternates or should public tee times not be filled. The event also requires complete foursomes. So if an odd number remains players will be waitlisted until a foursome can be made.

Tournament Fee: $15.00 per person includes bag lunch on day one

Prizes are awarded to the 1st & 2nd place in each flight.
OCTOBER
Sunday - October 1st - Ryder Cup Championship
The field for this 18 hole event includes the top 36 players that have qualified by earning points by participating in the designated Ryder Cup (RC) tournaments throughout the 2021 golf season. There will be two Ryder Cup teams (Nicklaus & Palmer), a captain will be named for each team. The format will include a Team Match on the front nine (2 point matches) and Individual Matches on the back nine (1 point matches). Teams with the most points win. Teams are drawn using player handicaps in an ABBAABBAABBA pattern.

Tuesday - October 10th - John Sevill Challenge
This tournament is the final Tuesday/Friday event of the season, and is played in a scramble format. Each player hits a drive, the best drive is selected. Each player then hits from that spot, you then select the best shot and once again play from that spot, repeat until the ball is holed on all 18.

Sunday - October 22nd - Closer Shamble - Shotgun Start - Post Event: Hors D'oeuvres, Prizes and Fall Business Meeting
There will be four and five man teams. The Closer is played in a shamble format, which requires each player to hit a drive, the team picks the best drive and all players then play from that spot, until each holes out his ball. Each player is usually required to hit a minimum number of drives. The one lowest gross and net score for each hole is the team score for that hole.

NOVEMBER
Sunday - November 5th – Greens Keeper Revenge and West Hartford Food Pantry Fundraiser
Sponsored by and open to both the Men's and Women's club. PHOTOS
This is an individual 18 hole Gross and Net event. The grounds crew will take out their revenge by setting several pin positions that will be your worst nightmare! Make sure you bring all of your skills with you for this tournament! In addition we will be once again be raising funds for the West Hartford Food Pantry. Please support the Food Pantry with a non-perishable food and/or cash donation at the Pro Shop. You can make your own foursome or come as a single and you will be put in a group to play with. Prizes will be awarded for gross and net but the real winner in this event is the West Hartford Food Bank! A shotgun start will follow coffee and donuts at the starting area.
